What type of oil are you supposed to use for a 2001 Yamaha TTR 125 Dirtbike?

Any good quality motorcycle-specific gear oil will work.

The best oil for this air-cooled four stroke is a petroleum oil made by Torco, Golden Spectro, Maxima, Yamalube, Hondaline, etc.

Nothing you can buy at automotive shops or your local Walmart is recommended, since they all have energy conservation additives now - and your engine's clutch can slip if this type of oil is used.

Synthetic motorcycle oils can be used, but aren't necessary.

Whatever you use, change it frequently.
